Head of Base

Richard Gundelach

Rich joined Woodside Lodge as Head of Base of our Forge site in 2020. Prior to working at Woodside, Rich owned a peripatetic teaching service for students with ASD and other special educational needs. This service worked very closely with the Leicestershire County Councils intensive support team for students with ASD. The role was to re-engage students that had become disillusioned with education. From there the reintegration of these students into an educational setting was the goal. Over the 10 years Rich worked alongside the council and successfully reintegrating 100’s of students.

Initially working alongside Woodside Group as a Music Technology tutor he moved on to manage our Outreach provision across Leicestershire before managing the team out of the Vale Farm base in 2018.

In 2020 the Forge site was acquired and Rich moved across along with his staff team and students. With a passion for teamwork and the “Woodside Way,” Rich and his team make sure all students have all the resources they need to enjoy their learning, support they need to maximise their potential at Woodside Lodge and progress in their lives.
